1. Where have you heard about GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®?

WhenI was 16years I was in a physio and ostepathie place where they had a gyrotonicmachine. So I started doing it there in Stuttgart for the first time

 Tenyears ago the first time for I think almost a year regulary. And then maybe 3times during the summer holidays

 

3. What was the reason to start training with GYROTONICEXPANSION SYSTEM® ?

 10years ago cause of a problem with my right ancle

 

4.  Have you noticed any difference in your body since you have been trainingwith this system?

 I didfeel always much better in my body ten years ago-but I could not reallyintegrate it in my dancing. But now it is incredible how just 4 gyro classeshelped me to come back in shape after holidays and actually it really helps youto develop all the flexibility and strength that you have problems with whenyou do a ballet class. So it is just amazing in all ways…you had a great workoutafter a gyro class but you also feel all your energy is flowing. You feel fullof power and freedom in your body.

 

5. What do you like about GYROTONIC® and the wayof teaching?

 Ilove the way you constantly move-everything spirals and reaches and you arenever holding any position you always keep reaching and spiraling. Everymovement leads into the next-it is absolutely natural the movement if you do itright.

1. Where have you heard about GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®?

As adancer I had been curious about GES for quite awhile. A friend of mine knew amaster trainer, Dominika Gaines, in my hometown of Phoenix. That is where Ifirst started training.

 

1. Since when have you been practicing GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®?

Unfortunatly,I have not been able to practice it consistently as the most recent places Ihave lived have not had it. But, sporadically, I would say for three years.

 

1. What was the reason to starttraining with GYROTONICEXPANSION SYSTEM® ?

 Iwas looking for an alternative to Pilates and a way to improve my dancing andgeneral feel of my body. I had struggled through quite a few injuries in thepast and was hoping that GRE would help me avoid more in the future.

 

 

1.  Have you noticed any difference in yourbody since you have been training with this system?

Immediately,after my first session I felt longer and like I had guided my body through itscomplete range of motion instead of the set patterns it was used to stay in. Ifelt a great expansion. Overtime I have been working to build on this feelingand keep it alive in between my trainings.

 

1. What do you like about GYROTONIC® and the way of teaching?

I likeeverything about Gyrotnic! I especially like that it is a hands on experiencewhich helps me greatly understand the exercises and the movement. I also likethat one can break down the exercises completely or work with intensity. I likethat there is that flexibility in its training. Really, for me Gyrotonic is agreat form of Physical Therapy. I feel that it rights my body and helps get ridof imbalances, tightness, and overuse.

 

1. Will you continue to take GYROTONIC® lessons?

Mostdefinitely!

Yes, and Ialready have. I will continue to recommend it in the future.

I would like tosay that I have been very lucky in having incredible teachers. I believe amovement system really is only as good as its trainers. Hinako has been a hugehelp, and I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her!

 1. Where have you heard about GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®?

 I heard about the Gyrotonic Expansion System in Norway in 2007,when my ballet director recommended it to me as a healthy supplement to ballettraining.

 

 

2. Sincewhen have you been practicing GYROTONICEXPANSION SYSTEM®?

 first I practiced in Norway for about once a week about 6 months,in 2007-2008. Then I had a break for about 3 years. I got to do a bit of itagain in rehabilitation after an injury in 2011. Two years after, I heard abouta good place in Düsseldorf and started again in  Easter times this year2013, for about once per week/two weeks.

 

3.  What was the reason to start training with GYROTONICEXPANSION SYSTEM® ?

The reason for me is to work on lengthening and strength andtrying to find the long axis that I need as a dancer, to keep my work as cleanas possible.

 

 4. Have you noticed any difference in your body since you have been trainingwith this system?

 Every time I walk out from a Gyrotonic lesson, I feel very longand well placed. To do a ballet class after a Gyrotonic class is a greatfeeling. I don't have to search for the balance -it's already there.

 

5. What do you like about GYROTONIC® and the wayof teaching? 
 I like that Gyrotonic focuses in detail on the small core musclesand in the same time stretches and elongates the body. The teaching is verypersonal, which helps finding the right way of doing the movements.

 

6. Will you continue to take GYROTONIC® lessons?

I would like to continue with Gyrotonic.


 

 7.  Would you recommend it to your friend?

 I have all ready recommended it to friends, and even made myGrandmother try it in Norway, since this system is a great way of working outand avoiding pains for older people as well.

The positive effects that were described in the article re.strengthening of the spine as well as improvement of physical flexibility andcoordination skills.

Yes! I am working in an office, often sitting more than 8hrs. in front of the computer. I have no more back pain since I am doingGyrotonic.

I like the high attendance of my trainer, the great supportin doing the exercises correctly and the good feeling of having done somethingpositive for my body after each training.

 

6. Will you continue to take GYROTONIC®lessons?

Depending on the availability of a good trainer at the earlymorning or after 19 h on Monday or Wednesday evening – yes.
